Maisa and Sophie playing sleep in the Kindergaten. Another dark picture with a sweet story and memory. Why do them only take dark pictures in the Kindergarden?

The stamp is actually a brush I printed into LYB paper. It looks pretty cool IRL.

I really need to find a solution to my light problem here. It seems to not have a place to take a decent photo of my layouts in this house. I walk errands with them, trying to get a good picture until I give up. It is always like this

The layout below is going to my me album. I was born and lived 27 year in a big city and could not imagine life in the country side. Today I live in a very small town and could not be happier

For this layout I used only pieces from my box of scraps. Love how the banner turned out!

I wrote down my feelings about us today, nothing about our way until here or my wish for the next 12 years.

I am happy with us today. I like the way we live together and everything we build in these 12 years. I am so happy with the three kids of us. Of course living together is a challenge sometimes. We changed along the years and so our expectations and wishes for each other.

We are still in love, we want to keep sharing our lives, we are looking forward for the next 12 years.

Today the guys were out to visit grandma and grandpa and the big girl was invited to a birthday party. I took the time to scrap for the challenges and have some layouts to share:

The first layout is to lift Keisha Campbell. She is a fantastic scrapper and her layouts are always so elegant and stunning. be sure to visit her blog and get inspired!

my little DD taking care of her skin lol It is kind of deja vu because my oldest daughter also did not miss an opportunity to play like this.

I think this new kit from Scrap Originals is the perfect fit for this layout, very elegant as Keisha’s layouts are.

For the second layout, to create a page  which title spans an entire page. I used the pallette #22 by The color room and scrapped Anna Carolina eating for her own (an entire meal) for the first time.

and here is this week’s pallette. It was quite difficult to find that perfect matching pink in my stash, I think it is the only sheet of digital paper I have with it. And no, I do not recolor. It is a challenge to find the perfect fit for the pallette and I love challenges

A very cool feature of this class is that once you register you can join the whole kaboodle every year, with new and old class participants. I LOVE THIS!

I think I’ll be posting each page of my album two days later because I first have to live my day and them I can only scrap it in the evening, one day later. Them I have to wait until the next day to take pictures and post (due to light and lack of time to make everything in one evening). So guess what? this post is about cover and September 1st

I decided to use an album I had already ready and did not have a project for it. My pages are size 14×14 cm (almost 6×6 in – the album is 6×6 in so the pages are a little smaller)

The album is made of chipboard, covered with an old K & Company paper from my stash. I love this paper with these letters.

Pages are made of double side patterned paper, so I can use both sides I used a very “fat” binding thing so the album has plenty of room to grow I did also added two pieces of very fat cardboard (from a box) just because. The first one I used for the “cover”.

I decided to not decorate the outsides of the album because I always have the problem of finding parts of the covers in the drawer or box where I keep the minis. So, my newest decision is to let the outsides of my mini albums plain or very simple and descorate an inside cover for them. That’s what I did here.

I LOVE this prima flower and just matched it with a cute paper, prima lace and digital label which comes in the new kit by Michelle Underwood, released this week at Two peas.

I did a close up photo but it is unsharp, bad bad light here, sorry!

September 1st I learned I need a weekly planner. I forget things and I don’t remember things (no, it is not the same lol). I realized it after spending lot of time in the city and grocery and not bringing home some things I need

I downloaded a weekly planner and will print for next week.  I need it.

I just layered amd layered scraps and more scraps from my box of scraps and used my favorite punches and of course, added some stitching That beautiful paper in the background is Studio calico. Yummy!

I also did an ATC, the start point was the cute camera from other SC paper. When we take a picture in Brazil we say “look to the bird!” (sounds really weird when I write it lol) and that’s the text in the b side.

 I truly love the color room, love to look all of the different interpretations of the color pallete in the gallery and I am always stunned by the creativity of the other members. It makes me feel only even more honored to see my layout in the front page this week. How cool!

When I saw the new pack your bags collection from LYB I thought… oh, what a pity I do not have pictures to scrap with it, it is so beautiful… but wait, I have those Rome pictures lol and here they are, pictures and the album I loved when I saw in the store. It turned out wonderful! I added few extra pages of double side patterned paper and only few embelishments (I had lots of photos).

The cute envelope album kit comes with 5 envelopes, 4 pages made of double side patterned paper, 5 inserts where you can write your journaling, cover and back cover (chipboard) and 10 washers & eyelets, linen string & 2 binder rings. I decided to bind it with my zutter though.

I can still remember how wonderful this trip was. We were living in Africa that time and a trip to Rome was something fantastic for our tired eyes and souls.

Life in the desert and in another culture was kind of killing us. Rome was our medicine.

Wait! you will se an overuse of my butterfly punch in this mini lol

I printed some digital labels with the places names:

For some extra pages I needed, I used a favorite from the Clothesline collection, also by LYB.

Again the butterfly, and the threading water punch. I can’t help myself. I love these two

I did some embellishments using patterned paper, punches and some transparencies I had from a previous project.

Envelopes with inserts = cool!

As you see the snowmen were with us in Rome too. And we took pictures of them everywhere. In the Colosseum, Via Apia, eating ice cream in the Piazza di Spagna. In fact the trip was an idea from our snowman Geraldo (the one with the purple hat). But I’ll spare you the details lol I told you the life in the desert was making us crazy!

I used the envelopes as pages too, I had lots of photos printed and all quite large for a mini.

I can only recommend these envelope albums, they are so fun to work with! the paper is very hard, you can add and add things to it and it does just stay as it is. I love the inserts and the extra pages for more photos and fun stuff. Now I pnly need to find the tickets and other memorabilia I kept from this travel, I hope I can still find it, 6 years and 2 moves later ;(

The layout above is about the day I was accepted in the university of my dreams. In Brazil the results of the qualifying examination are published in a newspaper, and that year I was approved the results were out one day earlier. I wasn’t expecting that and was very nervous so I went out with a friend to a artisans market. I went to the bus stop to wait for her and suddenly I see my mother running and shaking her hands in my direction, she said: you are in, you were approved! I did not understand a thing and them she told me a friend from the work has called and said she saw my name in the newspaper, that the results were out one day earlier!

(by this time there was quite a bunch of people who stopped in the street and were looking after what would happen the next with us lol). We went to a newspaper stand, I got a newspaper with the breaking news “results out one day earlier” and oh God, I was almost crying when I openned it and read my name there.

Everybody started shaking hands and congratulating and asking what I was going to study and so on. It was so fun and such a happy moment!

I went to the church, said my prayers, called two of my aunts and got my documents ready to the presentation day.

Right after we present our documents in the university and go out, the old students are waiting for the new “animals” and we get painted. I felt so proud and happy to be painted lol I them met another student in the bus back to the city and we were kind of sad because we did not have a camera to take a picture of us in this memorable moment of our lives. So we decided to go to a professional photograph (in a studio) and pay to have our picture taken. Yes, it is the picture above. Yes it was the year 1994. I am that old lol
